Startup launches digital and sustainable pension solutions for small businesses
Today sees the launch of Pensure.se - a digital service with a completely new contribution model for occupational pensions for small business owners, a group where 4 out of 10 do not have an occupational pension. Behind Pensure is a team of experienced pension experts and expertise in user design and digital business processes. With SPP as its supplier, Pensure is now challenging the old truths about pensions and is looking to give the industry a real boost into the future.
Pensure is challenging the industry by being the first all-digital solution with a completely new contribution model for occupational pensions. The pricing model gives SMEs access to negotiated prices for occupational pensions, previously reserved for large companies and corporations. Instead of insurance fees that erode the individual's pension, companies pay an annual licence fee to access the digital administration tool via Pensure.
- We can give small businesses access to this pricing because we have digitised the administrative flow and developed a user-friendly and intuitive interface for the user. By making it easy for companies to manage their occupational pension themselves on our platform, we have been able to give them access to pricing that was previously only available to large companies. This means that a 30-year-old entrepreneur who starts saving SEK 5,000 per month can receive SEK 3.2 million more in pension payments via Pensure.se compared to if he or she instead chooses to save in an insurance company with traditional pricing, says Mikael Claesson - founder of Pensure.
It's not the first time Mikael Claesson has challenged the logic of the insurance industry. In the early 2000s, he was responsible for setting up Moderna Försäkringar Liv, now Movestic, on behalf of the Stenbecks Group. In addition to being CEO of Movestic, he has also been CEO of SH Pension, a pension company within Svensk Handel.
- Over the years, the social partners and others have put considerable pressure on insurance premiums and the prices of the underlying funds through pension negotiations. However, these premiums have only been available to large companies and companies covered by collective agreements. Through Pensure, we are now also giving small businesses and companies not covered by collective agreements access to these negotiated prices," says Mikael Claesson.

- There are many reasons why these entrepreneurs are negligent and do not pay occupational pensions for themselves and their employees. They perceive occupational pensions as complicated, inaccessible and expensive. At Pensure, we want to make occupational pensions accessible to more people, which is why we are on the side of small businesses and offer occupational pensions that are user-friendly, simple and affordable," says Mikael Claesson.
Your choice of occupational pension has a major impact on your own future. But what many people don't think about is that if pension money is invested in sustainable companies, it can help to rebalance capital in the right direction and contribute to a better world in the long run. This is the reason why Pensure has chosen that every single krona invested through Pensure is placed in sustainable via SPP, the company named the world's most sustainable insurance company by Corporate Knights*. SPP's CEO, Staffan Hansén, defines sustainable savings as saving in future-oriented companies with sound values, which understand and integrate global sustainability challenges into their business.
- Saving sustainably is the only logical thing to do from a strictly economic perspective, but also so that we don't jeopardise our own future," says Staffan Hansén.
- For us, it was a no-brainer to work with a company that has such a genuine approach to sustainability work. For our clients, it means they can sleep soundly at night, safe in the knowledge that their pension money is contributing to a better world just by being invested in decent funds," concludes Mikael Claesson.
*The "Global 100" list was presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Storebrand/SPP is the most sustainable company in the world in the insurance category. In total, the Group was ranked 38th out of 5,995 companies.
Pensure is a digital platform where small and medium-sized enterprises can easily sign profitable occupational pension contracts. Every penny is saved in sustainable businesses, giving you more money to live with as a retiree - while contributing to a better world.
